Autumn is a beautiful season, but how can we help keep seniors safe both indoors and outdoors? Here are some helpful tips:

Clear Away Leaves
Loose leaves can actually increase the chances of seniors slipping and falling. Help reduce the risk of falling and injury by clearing away any leaves and obstacles on walkways.

Keep Warm
Although autumn may not have as cold temperatures as winter, vulnerable populations are still at risk of developing hypothermia with mild to cold temperatures. If you are going outside with a senior, ensure they are dressed in layers.

Infection Control
Not only are we in a pandemic, but we are approaching flu season as well. Make sure you ALWAYS wash your hands, avoid any contact with those who are sick, and disinfect all surfaces you touch. Infection control is vital and we ALL must keep this in mind.
