Today, we honour the bravery and sacrifices of all those who have served our country and we thank them deeply for their service. This day honours the “eleventh hour of the eleventh day in the eleventh month” which signaled the end of World War I in 1918. Throughout November, we honour our veterans by wearing a poppy – a symbol of Remembrance and hope.

I would like to share with you a poem titled “In Flanders Fields” written by John McCrae, a Canadian soldier who died in battle during WWI.
