Junior Marketer duties and responsibilities

A Junior marketer’s duties are dependent on the needs of a company. However, most of their duties fall into the realms of sales and customer success support. They gather information, organize data, schedule meetings and conferences and handle social media accounts of the organization. Other duties and responsibilities of a Junior marketer include:

  • Being available to sales and customer success professionals needing help with completing large projects
  • Collaborating with ambassadors of various departments to develop innovative ways of gaining exposure for client products
  • Working closely with the in-house collateral and development team to identify brand assets
  • Submitting ideas for experiential marketing programs created to enhance and grow the brand of the company
  • Helping to improve marketing campaigns and monitoring active marketing programs
  • Performing analysis from questionnaires to understand the needs of customers
  • The maintenance of database systems, hubspot, blog platforms, social media accounts and website
  • Assistance with event/conference preparation, coordination and attendance

Junior marketer skills and qualifications

Marketing is a customer-centered department that requires professionals with excellent customer service skills. They must know how to relate well with members of the staff, clients and brand ambassadors. A successful junior marketer candidate must have prerequisite skills and qualifications needed for the effective discharge of their duties. 

  • Exquisite oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of online applications, specifically Hubspot and Google workspace
  • High level of organization with a client-oriented approach
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to deadlines and multitask
  • Ability to communicate directly with different stakeholders and encourage trusting relationships
  • Ability to write marketing literature to augment the presence of the company in the market
  • Experience with hubspot, WordPress and LinkedIn required 
  • Create, maintain and execute on a monthly marketing calendar
